Welcome to 1st Bures Cub
Scouts. Cubs meet on Wednesday evenings from 18.30hrs
to 20.00hrs during school term-time.
ACTIVITIES:
We follow the National Cub Scout Programme and include a range
of activities to allow the Cubs to complete work towards
challenge and activity badges. If a Cub completes all the
relevant activities set on Pack nights, then he will
progressively be awarded badges to display proudly on his
uniform. Full details of all the badges can be found on the
Scouting website.
Activities are indoor and outdoor and include
map & compass work, tracking, short hikes, cooking, tent
pitching, making camp gadgets, team and individual tasks, arts &
crafts and educational items.

CAMPing:
Cubs are usually invited to attend a District event once a year
for a two-night camp.
attendANCE:
It is important that your child attends Cubs
regularly, as we have drawn up a comprehensive and balanced
programme of activities, for their enjoyment and education.
LEAVING: If
your child has decided to leave, it would be appreciated if you
would let us know, so we can allocate their space to someone on
the waiting list.
Subscriptions:
Subscriptions are payable to 1st Bures Cubs
Scouts. They are currently £28 per term. Subscription
money pays for
membership fees, insurance to Gilwell Park Headquarters, badges and activity costs.
Job Week:
Cubs are invited to assist in fund raising
for the group by taking part in Job Week, but this is not
compulsory. For safety reasons, Cubs should do jobs in pairs and
only approach family, friends and neighbours that they know.
