SAVE OUR CUBS

Our Cub group will be forced to fold unless a new Leader is found soon. Group Scout Leader Graham Lumley warns that nearly 20 children will be left high and dry if a replacement is not found for current Cub Leader David Lee. David retires in July following 17 of voluntary service to Bures Cubs – but no-one in the village has put their name forward to replace him.

Graham says: ‘It may be July that David retires, but it does not take long for those months to disappear.

We need someone in now, so they can receive the relevant training and be ready to start as soon as David steps down.

If will don’t find some more volunteers then the Cub Pack will have to close and the effect on that will not only be felt in the entire group – but across the whole village’.

The Scout Troop would seriously be put to the test if the Cubs were forced to fold – as vital stepping stone between Beavers to Cubs and Cubs to Scouts.

We have 18 Beavers with 10 more on waiting list, 18 Cubs and 23 Scouts – but if we were to lose the Cubs, the link would be lost.

No experience in the Scouting network is necessary - for people interested in becoming a
Leader(s) contact: Graham Lumley on (01787) 227732 for more information. All training will be given and you will get plenty of support from the group/district – but you must be over 18 years of age.
