Welcome to Scouts

We meet on Monday evenings from 19.00hrs to 21.00hrs in term time. We are a mixed group of boys and girls aged between 10-14 years. We sometimes run later, when going out (e.g., Rollerskating, Windsurfing, Ten Pin Bowling, Swimming, Abseiling or Visits etc). We do not meet on Bank, Term Breaks, Christmas and August Holidays. We follow the Scouting programme and do various activities throughout the year e.g. kayaking, rafting, pioneering, knots, cooking on wood fires, climbing, abseiling, gliding, archery, air rifle shooting, windsurfing and visits. Many Scouts gain badges during their four years in the troop. Some of the Activity and Challenge badges undertaken are: Hobbies, Canoeist, Hiking, Entertainer, Master of Arms (using our 1.77 air rifles), Swimmers Staged badges, Nights Away, Survival Skills, Fishing, Athletics, Cyclists, First Aid are just a few.
