Date: 9th Jun 2024 Author: Paul Snelling

Lots of fun was had at our Duck Race on Saturday 8th June 2024. With over 500 ducks making their way along the River Stour from the road bridge to the jetty on the Common.

A cardboard canoe competition involving members of our Scout & Explorer Sections followed, while on dry land there were games, activities and refreshments to enjoy.

Many thanks to everyone who supported us and well done to all our young people who took part.

We made a profit of: £1225.00 – which was a fantastic result towards our goal of getting a newer minibus.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
